Scaling up during a peak at Rituals

Legal Counsel at Halsten:

“The FMCG world in which Rituals operates moves quickly. These types of businesses value efficient answers and direct advice. The client offered the opportunity to take on an independent role, which also provided freedom. At the same time, tight deadlines required finding the balance between quick but well-informed choices. So that was my task as a lawyer to ask the right questions and navigate through information.

The challenge of this role lay in the ability to pick out the right information. You had to be prepared to fall into the middle of ongoing projects and find a way through them. Listening well was key to sensing which factors were important, helping to translate important collaborations into paper and providing appropriate consultation on the spot.

The organization deals with a wide variety of parties and activities in its sector. The entire journey that products take until they are in the customer’s home is included. That is why a generalist was the best fit, who knew how to switch immediately and applied the right knowledge when necessary. During a peak, we joined the growing team. In this way, we worked together with the team that was already in place within the organization, but we took too much out of their hands. That shows the value of the flexible shell, in which we move along with the needs of the client.”
