Born and raised in Amsterdam, Jip also completed her Masters in Private Law here. While listening to a podcast, she regularly walks through “her” city and makes sure the plants on her balcony look green. With an interest in labor law and general contract law, she starts at Halsten after completing her studies.
Driven by curiosity, Jip steps from school into the role as a lawyer. Curious about the relationship with clients and how each legal question relates to practice. Which solution best suits the client and actually helps them move forward. “I like to take the time to look beyond just the legal question that lands on my desk. That way you stay efficient in the long run as well.”
Additionally, Jip has a worldly curiosity that is not yet fulfilled after several months of traveling through Central and South America. Among other things, she still likes to visit the extraordinary Iceland. That fits with her motto “every day there is something to discover,” which is also applicable to law. “Law is acquired in everyday life and it intertwines in all of society. I see the challenge in discovering how to implement that social interest.”
