Mieke is co-founder and managing partner of Halsten Law,, also Halsten in Belgium, but also works ‘in the field’. She advises companies in the broadest sense, focusing primarily on contracting and commercial and trade law.
She is an inspired problem-solver with a firm belief in the strength of teamwork. Passionate about law in the broadest sense, with a far-reaching hands-on mentality. Clients gladly return to Mieke for advice, as she always thinks ‘out of the box’, and approaches legal problems and opportunities from the perspective of the business as a whole and in its best interest. And all this always with the necessary eye for detail.

Mieke in short: she obtained her master’s degree in law in Antwerp in 2001. Hereafter she obtained among others an aggregate degree, Masterclass Business Process management and the title of Data Protection Officer. From 2000 to 2012 Mieke worked at international law firms where she was mainly active in the field of general corporate law, general commercial and contract law and corporate and commercial litigation. Since 2013, she has also been providing legal advice to the City of Antwerp within administrative and governance law. Mieke teaches at both the Karel De Grote hogeschool and the National School for Officers. She is bilingual Dutch/French, also advises in English, and acquired a basic knowledge of Spanish.
